- Account Registration: Name, email address, phone number, password, and coaching center details when you create an account on Tutelync or inquire about our services.
- Student & Parent Data: When coaching centers use Tutelync, they may enter student names, parent contact details, attendance records, fee records, and exam results. This data is provided by the coaching center (the "Data Controller") and we process it on their behalf (as "Data Processor").
- Payment Information: Subscription payments are processed through Razorpay. We do not store your credit card or bank account details directly. Razorpay's privacy policy governs payment data handling.
- Communication: Messages you send us via email, WhatsApp, or contact forms.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, time spent on our platforms.
- Device Information: Browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and IP address.
- Cookies: We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve our services (Tutelync, LMS platforms, and other products).
- To process subscription payments and manage billing through Razorpay.
- To send transactional notifications via WhatsApp (attendance alerts, fee reminders, exam results) through Interakt — our official WhatsApp Business API provider.
- To respond to your inquiries and provide customer support.
- To send product updates, new feature announcements, and service-related communications.
- To analyze usage patterns and improve our products.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Third-Party Services
We share data with the following third-party services, only as necessary to provide our services:
- Razorpay: Payment processing for subscriptions (razorpay.com).
- Interakt (Jio Haptik): WhatsApp Business API for sending notifications to parents (interakt.shop).
- Supabase: Database hosting and file storage (supabase.com).
- Vercel: Website and application hosting (vercel.com).
Each of these providers has their own privacy policies governing data handling. We recommend reviewing their policies independently.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure cloud servers provided by Supabase (PostgreSQL database) and Vercel (application hosting). We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS) on all our platforms.
- Hashed and salted passwords (bcrypt) — we never store passwords in plain text.
- Role-based access control ensuring users only see data relevant to their permissions.
- Multi-tenant data isolation — each coaching center's data is completely separated.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. If you cancel your subscription or request account deletion, we will delete your data within 90 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as billing records required under Indian tax law).

You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Data Portability: Export your data in standard formats (CSV export is available in Tutelync).

7. Children's Privacy
Tutelync processes student data on behalf of coaching centers and educational institutions. Student data is entered and managed by the coaching center (the Data Controller). We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children under 18. All data collection for students is performed by authorized adults (teachers, staff, or parents) through the coaching center's account.
8. WhatsApp Communication
When coaching centers use Tutelync's WhatsApp notification feature, messages are sent to parents' WhatsApp numbers through the official WhatsApp Business API (via Interakt). These are transactional messages (attendance alerts, fee reminders, receipts) sent on behalf of the coaching center. Parents can contact the coaching center to opt out of these messages.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or a prominent notice on our website. Your continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
10. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Wayanad, Kerala, India.
